Cherry Tree Farm New Guidelines
Apologies, this document is a lengthy read so get yourself a cuppa and settle in 😉
VERY IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ ALL THOROUGHLY!
On Monday 14th September, the government released guidelines for campsites around the UK which we must adhere to by law:
New laws prohibiting social gatherings of more than six people came into effect Monday 14 September, as the Government calls on the public to remain vigilant in the fight against coronavirus. This statement can be found on the GOV.UK website.
Bookings
No more than six per group booking can be pitched together.
We cannot take bookings for multiple pitches.
You can not book for more than one family.
All customers are responsible for their own booking.
Here at Cherry Tree Farm we massively value our customers, team and local community and there is no greater importance to us than the health and safety of these people. If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 we beg you, for all the above, please do not travel here!
Some businesses are now starting to re-open in their second phase as per government plan. If you see something we have missed here on site, please don’t start recording or taking photos to later upload or share on social media, please come and speak to a member of staff as we are all here to help each other. We are super approachable here at Cherry Tree Farm and the current situation is new to everyone. Business owners alike will be trying their utmost to make environments safe, let us help each other through this transition.
We have had to make some big and some small changes at Cherry Tree Farm to ensure the safety of everyone. If you have visited us before or if it is your first visit, we apologise that some of our facilities are not currently available and that we cannot show you all of Cherry Tree Farm’s full magic. We are asking all customers to condense their belongings and respect the 2-metre distancing rule. We are advising all campers to bring their own hand sanitisers.
Arrivals/bookings/departures
7 days before arrival
The balance on all bookings must be PAID IN FULL seven days before your arrival date. This will cut down waiting times in reception on your arrival. You will automatically receive an email reminder seven days before your arrival date requesting final payment of your balance.
Please check your junk folder for any emails, if you think you have not received one from us, please contact us immediately so we can rectify this. (cherrytreefarmcampsite@gmail.com or call us 01271 890495)
Upon arrival
Allow only ONE family/group member to report to reception. We appreciate that you may have had a long journey and you would like nothing more than to get out of the car and explore the site. But please, we do ask you to remain by your car. We have a carpark toilet on the left as you drive in and please stretch your legs but remain as close to your car as possible until you have checked in. Even if you have been with us before and know your way around site and to your pitch, it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you report to reception first under the new circumstances.
Check-In procedure
We will still be checking you in as usual, so car tag’s and a booking receipt will be issued to you to display on your car windscreen and then for you to produce at reception on your departure, so we can re-issue your bonds.
Bonds
This year we will be asking ONE member of your party to pay all bonds on one card on arrival. Our card machine will be sanitised after each customer use. All bonds will be refunded back to the same person on the same card on departure (if you behave yourselves 😉)
A £10 SECURITY BOND IS TAKEN PER ADULT AND £20 PER ADULT FOR GROUPS. THIS IS TAKEN ON CARD BY ONE PERSON/LEAD BOOKER UPON ARRIVAL AND IS RETURNED ON DEPARTURE IN RECEPTION AS LONG AS ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE ADHERED TO.
You also confirm the person named in the booking form takes full responsibility for the persons included in said booking. We ask that you vacate your pitch by 11.00am please on your day of departure. This departure time is also under the rules of the security bond so be sure to be off your pitch and packed away by then please.
Strictly no open fires, BBQ’s are permitted but must be extinguished by 10pm.
We ask for noise to be at a minimum from 11pm and quiet from midnight. If you are looking for more of a party/late night vibe, we can give you recommendations for more suitable sites.
Refusal to pay the bond will mean the booking is cancelled and any money not refunded.
On departure you must report to reception with your car tag and the card which you paid the bond on.
ALL UNCLAIMED BONDS GO STRAIGHT TO OUR LOCAL HOSPICE CHARITY. We cannot refund bonds once you have left the site.
Pitches
Here at Cherry Tree Farm, we are proud of the fact that we have always had spacious pitches and do not overcrowd. Pitched fields have a marked 10 x 10 metre squared area. This provides an adequate social distance between people. So, you may be adjacent to other families or people.
When walking past someone else’s pitch, please always abide by the 2-metre distancing rule.
In unpitched fields, please set your camp area up respectfully with a 2 – metre distance at least from your neighbours.
All outdoor belongings (if you feel these are a necessity to bring) IE: picnic tables, chairs, gazebos, surf equipment, need to be kept within your pitch, tent or van.
Departures
Departure time is 11am. To be able to manage our occupancy levels as best as possible, we please ask you to be all packed up and ready to leave site at 11am. We cannot allow you to leave your car anywhere on site for the day.
Housekeeping/Good to know
Reception
Only one customer at a time, unless called forward by a receptionist. We may not always have two receptionists on duty so please be patient, we are here to help keep you safe so waiting times will be longer at peak check-in times. Please always respect the 2-metre social distancing rule in reception area.
No cash
This year we will be operating a NO CASH policy on site. Any payments for Bonds or Ice Bags will need to be paid for by card only please. Please note we will not be providing cash-back either.
Capacity
We have reduced our capacity by over half our normal occupancy. Even though Cherry Tree Farm has lots of space and large pitches (10 metre squared), we feel it is necessary to implement a good social distancing plan.
No visitors
We have had to reduce our capacity and use of facilities to keep our site safe. Please, do not ask if you can have visitor’s as we have an extremely strict occupancy limit.
Surf hire and equipment
Cherry Tree Farm will be cashless this year so all equipment will need to be paid for via card. You will receive a slip from a member of the surf hire team to take to the reception to pay there via the card machine. Only one customer at a time in reception, unless called forward by a member of staff. We may not always have two receptionists on duty so please be patient.
All equipment will be disinfected after every use and wetsuits will be rinse, sanitised and out of use for 48 hours between each hire.
Please help the environment and do not buy single use polystyrene boards or badly made wetsuits.
For your safety
Wash up area’s
We have now isolated two sinks in each wash up area. This is to ensure that a 2-metre social distance can be achieved. We have marked areas on the floors to help guide you, and signage to indicate which sinks are not in use. We ask that when possible only one member of the family/group/couple uses this facility at any one time.
Please note: The wash up area can get extremely busy at peak times!
Showers and Toilets
We have isolated some toilets, urinals and sinks to reduce the amount of people we have in a block at one time. Please consider others when entering or exiting a block and keep a safe social distance of 2-metres. We are doing this for your safety, please be compliant with signage and foot markings where visible. You may need to wait outside the block until a space is available.
Most of our showers are in a closed cubicle and will be open. Some shower blocks maybe a one in one out system or a family bubble area. Signage will indicate this. Please respect our rules, this system is to try and keep maximum facilities open but as safely as possibly.
We are closely following the government guidelines on extra areas to be monitored more for cleaning. It will not be viable for all facilities to be cleaned after every use. We have however increased our cleaning rota of our communal areas.
Facilities not in use currently
Sadly, we have had to make some drastic decisions to help stop the spread of Covid-19, therefore we will not have the ice blocks system to hire or swap in place.
No freezers will be available for your own ice-blocks.
Bags of ice will be available to buy from reception.
No phone-charging point – please bring your own rechargeable power packs.
Rubbish bin’s and collection
PLEASE RECYCLE!!! 2020, we had the worst recycling ever recorded at Cherry Tree Farm, so we urge everyone to be more proactive and help us with this in the coming seasons.
We have installed hand sanitisers at every bin station for your use. Please do not abuse this service as stock levels could be limited.
This has been a large additional expense for Cherry Tree Farm so please, help us to help you.
Additional information
Always keep to the 2-metre distancing rule wherever possible.
Adults to supervise young children at all times. No groups of children in communal areas please.

At this point, we would like to thank you for taking the time to read this document.
We have yet to receive any clear government advice, so please be aware these guidelines are subject to change.
We would love nothing more than for you to have a safe and wonderful experience here at Cherry Tree Farm. We look forward to welcoming you all.
